GOOD INFO
I got this in a SPAM, but I think it is true.
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of Athenian Republic some 2000 years earlier: “A democracy is always temporary in nature: it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.”
“A democracy will continue to exist up until the time voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.”
“From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.”
“During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage
Professor Joseph Olsen of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 presidential election:
a.. Number of states won by: Gore: 19; Bush: 29
b.. Square miles of land won by Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000
c.. Population of counties won by Gore: 127 million; Bush 143 million
d.. Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties by Gore:13.2; Bush 2.1
Professor Olsen adds: ‘In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
Olsen believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some 40% of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.
If you think Barack Obama’s Change is going to help with free medical for all and taxing anyone making over 250,000 who already pay 46% of all federal income tax, think again.
The total income tax paid in 2004 was $832 billion. Those earning $75,000 or less paid $182 billion (22 percent) and those earning more than $75,000 paid $650 billion, or 78 percent of all taxes. Further, those earning $200,000 or more paid $389 billion in taxes, which is 47 percent of all taxes paid.
For those of you keeping score that means the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans paid nearly half of all the taxes. And now consider this: The wealthiest 2 percent of Americans pay an average of $322,000 in taxes while the remainder of taxpayers (98 percent of them) pay an average of $3,037. That is a pretty big difference.
Barack Obama is going to INCREASE Social Security tax by raising the cap from $102K, to $250K, This is a tax increase, Capital Gains tax increase from 15% to 28%, When your Parents retire and sell their home for Capital Gain they will lose over 1/4 of the value to taxes. This will also cause a large # of investors to cash out to avoid paying the tax and could really disrupt the market. The companies that we are going to tax will pass these increases onto the consumer ( YOU and ME) It may not be a actual Tax increase but something will increase. Call it whatever you want, this is economics 101. America has been living outside its means for a while now, 50% off blowout sale, have your credit card ready, 0 down and no payments for a year, everyone approved, drive it home today, America is a sucker for deal. And if you find you can’t afford the payments, just blame whoever’s currently in the driver’s seat.

Javon Walker – a victim of Stupidity?
Being a life long Denver Bronco fan, it was nice to see that whining Javon Walker leave for the wonderful Raiders(Not).
Hittting the news today, http://www.fox5vegas.com/sports/16624503/detail.html, Javon was seen at two locations drinking more champaign than humanly possible. According to the Fox 5 Los Vegas report he spent 15K in one round of champaign. THEN, SUPRISE-SUPRISE, the night ends with him getting his ass kicked, un-conscience on the street.
Wasn’t he with Darrent Williams when he got killed last year? I guess he is just trying to live up to the Raider-Mystique.
Prolate Spheroid Defined
A prolate spheroid is the most important object in professional sports, it is a football. If you want some more evidence, ask a scienctist, http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/math99/math99124.htm
The Democratic National Party is Pathetic
I can’t believe what a racket the Democratic National Party is. Not only are they the most “elite-pompous-asses on the planet”(save the English Crown), they don’t care about their own base. Is it just me, or was their pathetic power-play to exile two whole states from voting for the President of the United States about the most transparent power mongering ever. Why would the biggest goof of a leader, Howard Dean, actually think that he could disenfranchising his own party? That is worse than hanging chads. At least, the guy is willing to put Florida back in play, but only at the approval of the two candidates.
I Honestly, Truly, feel sorry for those blue collar Democrats that have to be led by such Asses.

I kicked ass on “How does google work”
Well, I’m giving my self some kudos, and I kick ass. Out of 18 Million pages, I made it to number 9, which is the front page of Google on the phrase “how does google work”. I have bumped back to 14, but Google is a moving target, so I’ll be back up. I originally wrote a paper for my MBA class on the subject titled, “Google: How does it work?”, which goes into more detail about the company and their business plan, than into search theory. You can read my “Google: How does it work?” paper (pdf) here. My page is also ranked very high on this other phases, “how does google stock look“, number 2 after Yahoo(odd).
So if you want to know more, read my work.

Another reason our system is screwed, “Wrongful Death Lawsuits”
http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/03/04/ritter.trial.ap/index.html?eref=rss_topstories
“His family is suing Lee and a radiologist, Dr. Matthew Lotysch, who did a body scan on Ritter two years earlier, for $67 million. The current lawsuit follows settlements with the hospital and eight other medical personnel for about $14 million”
I like John Ritter, he was funny, but his death and wife’s lawsuit are no laughing matter. I think the whole system is broken, and his wrongful death lawsuit is a perfect example.
John Ritter had plenty of money, he probably had a great life insurance policy, and his greedy wife needs more. So he died, in the care of a doctor, that had known him for literally minutes of his life. The first question that needs to be asked, are doctors “God”? NO. Do doctors like to fail when helping people, or better yet, like to kill people? No and No. Should a doctor, and the health care system be responsible for the deaths of all people? No.
So why then, should minutes of a persons life, be 100% the responsibility of the health care system? Why should the broken system have to pay $67 Million dollars to the widow of John Ritter? Is that fair? NO. Is John life more valuable than the rest of ours? No. Is it more valuable than a soldiers? No.
WHY then do ”WE” accept these greedy lawyers, the greedy clients, and the outrageous lawsuits to be legal and just in our society?

Clemens is no better than Bonds
Well – Clemems seems like a better person, he isn’t a huge asshole, but at the end of the day he is sitting on the same side of the bench as Barry Bonds.
