Steal-ers of the Superbowl

The Steelers won the big game. Just as I said so in my first post. It may have been the Steelers Baby that help jinx the Seahawks, because as usual they could not win the big game. I think the Steelers defense played well, but there offense was terrible. Big Ben played poorly, helped only by one desperation throw to Ward. Otherwise Seattle moved the ball better and had more chances. Lets point out that the Seahawks missed two field goals, were pathetic in both 2:00 minute drives they had, and threw a key interception when the game was still close. Had the Hawks not made a 75 yard interception, the game wouldn’t have even been close on the scoreboard. Even with the Seahawks out playing the Steelers. I wouldn’t say that the game was super-sucky like Jeremy, but it wasn’t the best game ever.

Super suck.

The super bowl was horrible. Both teams played really poorly. Roethlisberger and Hasselbeck were throwing ducks all game. Except for one 75 yard run (which was mostly a lucky call and botched play by the strong safety), none of the running backs were even worth mentioning. The Steelers defensive line didn’t create any pressure on Hasselbeck who despite having all day to find a receiver wasn’t hitting his targets. The refs were just as bad, not only on the controversial calls (Roethlisberger’s Touchdown, and Darrell Jackson’s Touchdown), but also on their holding penalties. Not only did the game suck, but the stones are one of my favorite bands, and that half time show was really bad. The sound was all messed up and they only got in 3 songs, which was sad, because I’d rather have watched a stones concert than the football game that they interrupted. And when did super bowl commercials become SO annoying? I used to like the commercials. This years were really bad - especially all the “wardrobe malfunction” puns.

This years super bowl was as painful as the rose parade, which I haven’t seen in over a decade. I’m sorry I wasted 4 hours of my life watching it, and 5 minutes writing this blog about it.

Hall of Fame “Turducken” style

TurduckenHall of Famer John Madden. That has a nice ring to it. The guy deserves to be in the hall as much or more than the other 5 guys who made it in. He has the best winning percentage of all time, he is a Hall of Fame broadcaster (especially good with the X’s and O’s TV drawer thing), his football game rocks, and he drives around the country in a bus sponsored by a steakhouse. He also has been in a plane crash and survived (referring to Al Davis as his owner). Plus he popularized words like Turducken and “Boom! Tuff actin’ Tinactin!!!

Troy Aikman - deserves to get in, he was a great leader and his stats could have been better if he could have keep from hitting his head to many times.

Reggie White - is a shoe-in, and a great guy. I think the modern day game owes him some props - especially since he was the first big-time free agent.

I’m not to sure about Warren Moon except he has the yards and only managed to beat his wife. I’m also not to sure about Harry Carson, I like the guy, he played on a great team, but he wasn’t all that good. Rayfield Wright - more linemen like him need to get credit.

The most important aspect of the super bowl

Filed Under (Sports) by Jeremy on 03-02-2006

Lombardi TrophyHere’s the deal, the super bowl will come down to each teams strengths. The Pittsburgh Steelers need to execute on their blitzes. If they can effectively blitz on both running and passing downs, they will win the game. On the other side of the coin, if the  offensive line of the Seahawks is able to pick up the blitzes, or if Shaun Alexander can find lanes where the Steelers blitzed, the Seahawks will win. The Steelers ability to blitz and the Seahawks offensive lines are two of the biggest reasons either team is in the super bowl. It will be exciting to see which teams strength will be able to prevail.

Steeler Baby

Steeler Baby, powering the team to the Super BowlI found this funny little guy at SteelerBaby.com, check it out, it has some funny stuff. This must be a sign that the Steeler’s fans are crazy - or - prophetic. I think that some on should send this little guy or girl to Shawn Alexander to jinx him.

I’ve already said it in another post, the Steelers will win the Super Bowl.

Also, for the women that like the cute little guy, read my post on the Ladies Super Bowl Cheat Sheet.
